Quilting JetGirl Alison Glass Challenge

Since I recently completed a small project using my new bundle of Seventy Six fabric by Alison Glass I figured I might as well write up a post about it so I could join the fun challenge hosted by Quilting Jetgirl.

Quilting Jetgirl Alison Glass Challenge

My finished project is actually quite modest, but it is still a finish! I have been thinking about creating at least one quilt with a quote that I love (still deciding on the quote!). So I took advantage of multiple Thanksgiving sales to purchase some letter patterns. I wanted to try a few of them out, and to use this amazing new Alison Glass fabric I had just received. So I got the idea for a small project I could make -- and In/Out sign for my cubicle at work!

This little project gave me a good sense of what the letter patterns will look like in a quilt with the bonus of being practical because I use it everyday. Wish I would have switched the colors though, because I love the "out" side so much but I never see it because it is only facing that direction when I'm not there!

Thanks for the fun challenge, looking forward to making more with this amazing fabric line!

2017 Finish- A-Long

I'm a little bit late to the party, so I'm going to make this post short and sweet. I love the extra motivation that a little contest with fun prizes gives me to finish stuff so I'm joining the 2017 Finish Along for a few projects I really want to tie up this quarter. Since this is the first time I've done this I'm going to start small and manageable.

1. 100 blocks / Tula City Sampler: My goal is to have this quilted and bound by 1/25 to be eligible for the #100BlocksFinished prizes. Not sure it will happen, but I'm trying. It will be done by the end of March.

2. Mini Quilt from Quilter's Candy Box: This is for my Mom. For Christmas, which I obviously missed. New goal is to have it done by her birthday on 2/10. Needs backed, quilted, bound.

3. Missouri Star: I am close to being done with quilting, just need to decide how far I want to go with the quilting. Will set my goal of finishing by the end of March.

Good luck to everyone participating!
